Contribution of Duplicated Nucleotide-Binding Leucine-Rich Repeat (NLR) Genes to Wheat Disease Resistance

چکیده

Wheat has a large and diverse repertoire of NLRs involved in disease resistance, with over 1500 detected some studies. These NLR genes occur as singletons or clusters containing copies from different phylogenetic clades. The number cluster size can differ drastically among ecotypes cultivars. Primarily, duplication led to the evolution diversification genes. Among various mechanisms, whole genome (WGD) is most intense leading cause, contributing complex evolutionary history abundant gene set hexaploid wheat. Tandem recombination another major mechanism expansion diversity divergence duplicate are responsible for broad-spectrum resistance plant species limited R Understanding mechanisms underlying rapid wheat will help improve crops. present review focuses on their contribution resistance. Moreover, we provide an overview resistance-associated strategies

Rice Pi5-mediated resistance to Magnaporthe oryzae requires the presence of two coiled-coil-nucleotide-binding-leucine-rich repeat genes.

Rice blast, caused by the fungus Magnaporthe oryzae, is one of the most devastating diseases of rice. To understand the molecular basis of Pi5-mediated resistance to M. oryzae, we cloned the resistance (R) gene at this locus using a map-based cloning strategy. Genetic and phenotypic analyses of 2014 F2 progeny from a mapping population derived from a cross between IR50, a susceptible rice culti...

Regulation of class I major histocompatibility complex (MHC) by nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat-containing (NLR) proteins.

Most of the nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich repeat (NLR) proteins regulate responses to microbial and damage-associated products. Class II transactivator (CIITA) has a distinct function as the master regulator of class II major histocompatibility complex (MHC-II) transcription. Recently, human NLRC5 was found to regulate MHC-I in cell lines; however, a host of conflicting positive and n...

Genome-wide comparison of nucleotide-binding site-leucine-rich repeat-encoding genes in Arabidopsis.

Plants, like animals, use several lines of defense against pathogen attack. Prominent among genes that confer disease resistance are those encoding nucleotide-binding site-leucine-rich repeat (NB-LRR) proteins. Likely due to selection pressures caused by pathogens, NB-LRR genes are the most variable gene family in plants, but there appear to be species-specific limits to the number of NB-LRR ge...

Mutational analysis of the Arabidopsis nucleotide binding site-leucine-rich repeat resistance gene RPS2.

Disease resistance proteins containing a nucleotide binding site (NBS) and a leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region compose the largest class of disease resistance proteins. These so-called NBS-LRR proteins confer resistance against a wide variety of phytopathogens. To help elucidate the mechanism by which NBS-LRR proteins recognize and transmit pathogen-derived signals, we analyzed mutant versions o...
